BOLLO STUDIOS

Bollo Studios is the creative wing of Bollo Brook Youth Centre, based in West London but working with young people aged 11-25 from across the capital. The vast majority of young people come from areas of economic deprivation, with limited educational resources or access to platforms to explore and express their experiences and attitudes.

Bollo Studios works tirelessly to support young people to overcome these barriers, both through holistic support and through working in partnership with organisations across the city and beyond: recent collaborations have included SOAS, the Equality Trust, the Tate Modern, Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery, and professionals in the creative industries.

The work of Bollo Studios is overseen by Reuben Griffiths and Yasmin Dosanjh.

Reuben has been the Music Coordinator for the past 13 years, and has developed and delivered collaborative projects with partners from the Democratic Republic of Congo, New York and Berlin, as well as producing regular podcasts and radio shows, including the projects outlined below.

Yasmin is the Arts Coordinator, with a background in Social and Political Sciences and Arts Psychotherapy. In her 8 years at Bollo Studios, she has used a range of multimedia approaches to support young people to creatively find and express their voices around issues that impact in their lives, as recently showcased in the major exhibition at Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery, ‘Who are we? Navigating race, class and the city’.

They are joined by our Studio Engineer Godwin Kyeremeh. Godwin is a mix and mastering engineer who delivers music sessions in both North and South Acton. He also heads up the audio hire arm of Bollo Studios. He, with young people from Bollo, provides PA hire services to community events around the borough of Ealing.

Bollo Studios is supported by Youth Music.
